January 3, 2015— Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a great New Year! Cascade Writers has been busy making plans for our next workshop in July — and we’re happy to announce we’re getting Tor editor Claire Eddy back as a group leader. Other leaders are JA Pitts, Shannon Page, and Mark Ferrari. We’ve also added a recent transplant to the Northwest — fantasy and mystery writer Laura Anne Gilman. Other speakers include Everett Maroon (if you haven’t read his memoir, Bumbling Into Body Hair, you should go do that RIGHT NOW!) and Alex C. Renwick. We’ll be meeting in an amazing, luxury home in University Place, WA, with views of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains. It’s a warm, intimate setting where everyone can mingle and have a chance to move our writing to the next level.
In other regional news — Emerald City Comic Con is in March in Seattle. They still have some one-day tickets left and you won’t believe who they have on their pro list of speakers! Stan Lee! John Barrowman! Morena Baccarin! I’m not going to list them all, but the celebrity guests are amazing this year.
