Cascade Writers has the following scholarships available:

Reed Marginalized Voices Scholarship

Cascade Writers is excited to announce the Reed Marginalized Voices Scholarship! Donated by Jaime O. Mayer, this scholarship is meant for writers in need of financial assistance to attend a Cascade Writers premier workshop. We encourage writers who belong to marginalized communities, including people of color, the disabled, neurodiverse, LGBTQIA community, and members of religious minorities to apply. The scholarship will cover the cost of registration only. Lodging, food, and transportation are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient (except for the July event, where two nights of hotel and a $75 food stipend will also be awarded).

Interested applicants are asked to submit a short (400-800 words) essay describing who they are, where they are in their writing career, and what they’re looking to get out of the workshop.

Applicants may apply by sending an email to [email protected]. Please include the essays in the body of the email, not as attachments.

*Cascade Writers and Jaime O. Mayer reserve the right to remove an application at their discretion. This includes but is not limited to applicants that fail to follow the submission guidelines, troll the guidelines, or harass the administrative team.

SWOC Scholarship

This scholarship covers admission to our event based on financial need. Please email [email protected] with why you’re in need of the scholarship. The more details you share, the easier it will be for us to award this scholarship.
