The Cascade Writers Jay Lake Scholarship
This scholarship for a full registration of $245 is funded by Jorgen and Karen Junker and is based on need. Applicants are asked to submit a brief statement of need and a 1000-word writing sample to info@cascadewriters.com Please put “Jay Lake Scholarship” in the subject line of your email. Deadline to apply is May 15. The recipient will be decided by a panel of judges made up of Cascade Writers board members.

Applicants are asked to submit a brief statement of need and a 1000-word writing sample to info@cascadewriters.com Please put “General Scholarship” in the subject line of your email. Deadline to apply is May 15. The recipient will be decided by a panel of judges made up of Cascade Writers board members and the donor.

A. We’ve already got a dozen classes scheduled for Friday and Saturday, along with a “Stories on the Fly” session on Thursday, and a special LGBT panel on Sunday.  And more is in the works! Here’s the tentative list so far:

Q. How much does it cost?
A. We will have two registration options for 2013.

1. For $125 you can attend all classes.
2. For $245 you can attend all classes, participate in Milford-style workshop critiques, and have a pitch session with Cameron McClure.

Both options include time to participate in on-site writing groups.

Q. Can I make payments on my registration fee?
A. We are willing to work with you and establish partial or monthly payments.  Contact Karen for info.

Tina Connolly, newly added 2012 Workshop leader

After receiving multiple requests, we’ve expanded the July 26-29, 2012 Workshop and are re-opening registration for eight more seats.

Our new workshop leader is Tina Connolly, author of  Ironskin (coming October 2012 from Tor).

We’re also adding speakers Spencer Ellsworth and Sheryn Hara to our lineup for this summer’s event.

Registration will be open until we have filled the eight seats or until June 15, whichever is sooner.
